Start with a stiff action, bed the bolt lugs to get equal contact, pillar bed to a quality synthetic stock then mount a barrel with a target chamber and of appropriate length and twist for it's intended purpose and caliber. While a trigger makes it easier You can learn to shoot any trigger

Is there really anything new that can be done, especially in the pistol segment? Change in materials, or manufacturing to bring down the cost but what really can be done that would be innovative and not just cosmetic?
Combo rifle in 12 gauge and 308 that combination can handle anything short of CQBIf it looks like CQB is going to be probable, find someone with a magazine Fed semiautomatic rifle to “swap” with.
Mag capacity is not a factor. A bear can close so quickly that you will be lucky to get off two aimed shots. Now you may be able to keep shooting while it is on top of you.
if those are my only two options 10mm as hot and heavy as I can handle. But I would not go into brown bear county with anything smaller than 454 casull
