I thought, and I might be wrong, that the box and its contents were Federally protected property of the USPS and the addressee only, for the legal use of the 2 parties only. That's why a third party can't stuff ad flyers in mailboxes, USPS wants you to pay the postage on the items.
You can cut it yourself with a bit of patience and a hacksaw. Don't cheap out, buy a new blade for the saw with the finest teeth available.
If it isn't a vent rib barrel you can put a hose clamp around the barrel as a guide to get a nice straight cut.

my son was sitting in his deer stand, and a yote came trotting thru the woods, he swung and popped him good, rolled him over and blew a hole in his side the size of a fist. Yote innards everywhere. He is going yote hunting seriously when deer season is over in January.
