Help with diminished value claim
I think they are LOW.. I would look at KBB / NADA and look at the best value as if it was never wrecked and then de-rate it about 2 grades to get an estimate. If the wreck shows up on carfax it will really hurt the value I think. -

Have them send you a check. Then look for another car. OR Go to pull apart and get the A arms and spindle etc. Swap them over. Get an alignment. Take the rest of the money and save for a newer car. -
Need more power
You also might want to check what gears you are running in the rear end. My 5.3l Avalanche pulled a 1969 Chevelle, Uhaul auto transport and extra parts from Atlanta to Cleveland Ohio with no problem. A pop-up shouldn't be an issue for your f150. I think something is a miss. Do a full tune up...
