Let's see a picture of the bar you installed!
I added a bumper/winch over the summer to be self-sufficient if I get stuck on the hunting property and pulled the trigger on new tires (long overdue) that will be here in the next couple of days.
We have an old red belly tractor on the property that needs a little work. Someone did a conversion on it a while back so I'm not sure exactly whats the issue. Power and fuel seem good so we'll troubleshoot this off-season. We also have a number of attachments for it, just need to get her...
This year we did "plant" some throw and grow and it did pretty well. It was a bit last minute since I had to go to Dallas, Tx from April through the end of July. We were clearing plots in August and let me tell you how miserable that was lol
We have a couple of deer feeders on the property we hunt; This is the first full year hunting this property. After some research, I've seen that it is not suggested to feed corn into the colder months as deer stomachs adjust to the available food. Though that article seemed to be focused on...
Good luck to anyone going out. Trying to decide if I'll brave the rain this weekend down in Meriwether Co.
Won't get anything if you're not in the stand.
This strikes a nerve with me. You should always aim to make a clean and ethical kill, I know 'it happens but what are you going after with a hind leg shot using a .223? I don't know if they are just that poor of a shot, or making an attempt to inflict pain. I'm glad your son was able to put...

Posting a day late. Harvested my first deer ever and a great one at that, IMHO.
This guy walked out of the brush along the path I took to get the the stand and paused broadside at 25 yards. Dropped on the spot!
My woods gun is a S&W 329NG 6rds of 44 mag. Though with how light the 1895 trapper is in 45-70, I've considered toting that around while backpacking/fishing.
As the title says, I'm trying to find a spot near Acworth to buy deer corn by the pound. I know Reseca Sun Feeds has some up near Calhoun, but I don't make is up that way too often. Is there anywhere around Cobb Co that can help me out? It would be (2) 55 Gal drums a couple time a year.
Thanks!
Made it back in the woods this afternoon. Scouted some new land this afternoon that my father-in-law’s friend owns. Hasn’t been hunted in two years so with some work in the off season it’ll be ready for 2020. Deer sign just all over
Made it out to Pine Log this morning for the first time. Set up in the hardwoods between a few creek beds. Thought we have a great spot until a fellow hunter walked right through our shooting lane... it happens but we didn’t see Jack after that. There always next time.
I'd say mine was pretty good. I didn't actually get anything this season but it was my first and I sure learned a lot. Looking forward to this off season to put some more work in the scouting and preparation for next season.
My thoughts as well, I wish I had the opportunity to start at a young age but growing up in a family that was anti-gun made it impossible. I enjoy every chance I get to spend time in the woods, and the possibility of it bringing food to the table makes it that much more enticing.
