Been burning all week so far about 600 acres got about 300 more to be done.
Anybody else trying to get thru before the turkeys start nesting these biologists now days want you to wait until it starts greening up I think that’s to late in sw ga.

we had to vote on the burn, i lost!
the other wanted to leave it, for bedding area!

when i worked on a quail plantation near Madison we would try to have all burning finished by mid march. started when the days allowed for it in January. There was about 10k acres but the most we did at one time about 150 acres.

That is correct that was what used be taught in wildlife mgt classes some burning is good but u need some areas un burnt within the area being burnt.

No burning, but just had a mulcher on the property for two days. It sure made things more accessible, and gave us some shooting lanes.

Hard to say, as we were widening existing roads and making some new ones. Most mulching guys I talked with said they could do about two acres in eight hours, depending on size and density of the trees being cleared.
