I mostly take my 1972 Marlin lever action in 35 rem. with a 2x7x32 Weaver scope. It has a hair trigger and no safety. I’ve been hunting with that rifle since 1974.

If I was to go deer hunting, I'd take my 1950 Winchester Model 94 thutty-thutty. If I was going squirrel hunting I'd take a Win 290 or a single shot, break open .410.

Blue finish, walnut(Wood) stock pre 1990ish. Just about an extinct species in today's gun shop. No Turkistan plastic disposable gun. If someone would like to add their definition, they're more then welcome.
