Working on a steel framed 1911

I plan on buying a cheap steel framed 1911 so I can learn how to properly fit parts and was wondering if I needed to apply some sort of corrosion preventative in between days that I work on it.

I want to stay with steel so I can learn to blue it as well.

Certainly wouldn't hurt but you'll probably be using lubricants when fitting parts so may not be needed

Yep, don't worry unless its a musty damp basement or a shed that the roof leaks.
