Damn. I mean yes overall the WNBA is subsidized by the NBA and wouldn't exist or even be able to support itself. BUT, having watched Caitlin Clark, she was actually fun to watch, and the reason why Women's NCAA basketball viewership went up so much. I think it was 14.2 million viewers for the Iowa/Uconn game. I'm sure she's going to be just fine with sponsorship revenue, etc. But yeah overall the WNBA doesn't bring in the fans. NCAA blew them out of the water this year especially.

Total women in the US - 168,000,000

If they want more $$$, the women have to support them, instead of being subsidized by the NBA. I’m betting Caitlin Clark brings many more viewers though and pay goes up. Much the same as Tiger Woods popularity drove up the purses in the PGA.
