WKC Solingen Military Dress sword

Looks pre WW2 made for the Argentinian military.
Does it have a notch in the butt or any hole (or worn-down nub) on the guard?
If so, may-could indicate that it's an old bayonet.
Otherwise it seems way too small for a sword but yet too large for a dagger
