Some boars are good, some ain`t. My folks in NC wouldn`t kill hogs unless it frosted , but after moving to GA in 1969 I learned that hogs don`t go bad that fast. The Laotions that hunt WMAs will leave them on a tailgate in the hot sun all day and still eat `em. I`ve witnessed this. I`ve killed several in hot weather. Got one last week with muzzle loader at 7:30 am, started skinning at 2pm. Took two hours to skin ,quarter, then put on ice. Meat was fine. Temp got up to 70 or so. BTW, this was a ,maybe, 200 lb live weight boar. Young boar, tusks just starting.I’m no pig pro but old folks waited til the first frost to kill pigs. The HC is about 45 min from my processor so I’m king of worried about the warm temps now for keeping meat unless I take a cooler and dress myself. I’m sure that boar won’t be fit to eat.
