Why is there more than one size thread for each caliber?

I know my tirant9 is 1/2x28.

I searched up glock factory threaded 9mm and I get only results for M13.5x1LH? Why would they make diff size threads for the same caliber? Wouldn't it make sense just to make 1/2x28 for all 9?

I know for mixing and matching but adapters can do that for you.

One is metric, the other is standard thread. Going to assume terant is an American company, as we are the only country that I know of that still uses the standard system.

simple. glock barrel is made by an austrian company. TiRant is made by an american one.

Luckily 9 and 45 seem to be the only ones with 2 major thread patterns. I blame Sig, HK, and Glock.

Lonewolf makes black barrels in standard threading.

I would stick to 1/2-28 for everything 9mm if possible, because then you can use it on your 22 if need be.

what kills me is that 9mm AR's seem to have threads all over the place, only Adco had the 1/2x28 that I could find.

Yeah.... Im thinking about it. I really want Stormlake or Jarvis but I'll settle if I can't find one... You would think they would have some pre-made... StormLake has them for sell but its stainless steel.
