I used to carry a Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag but it was too dang heavy. Now it is either my snub .357 or G27 and whichever knife I decide on that day. Probably one of my handmade knives, and always a fixed blade.

Boating I take my Khar CW9 loaded with Hornady CD.
Hiking I carry my Taurus 85 with +p and extra strip clips.
My knife of choice is the Red Head fixed blade with skeleton handle.
