A friend of mine is looking for one of the two and I told her I would get opinions. So does anyone here have experience with either? I am familiar with both actions and triggers, but the stock and fit is a mystery to me.

Weatherby all day, because the other option is Salvage. The best deal going in bolt action rifles are Vanguard/Howa rifles. They are built like real bolt action hunting rifles.

I like the Weatherby, but the older Savage is a good rifle too. Main thing is going to be length of pull to fit her smaller frame

Thing is, I wouldn’t say she is small framed. After seeing her shoulder a 700, the length of pull looks fine. I think she just try a Monte Carlo stock.

It isnt just LOP. The butt on those is dropped and angled so she doesn't get poked by the toe of the stock.

AR stocks meant for body armor are like that as well but tend to be narrow and hard. It works with a lean gal but not so much for fluffy ones. And you need to add a cheek riser.
