Vegetable Soup for supper

Just got thru putting together a pot of vegetable soup and put in crockpot to simmer till tonight! Tomatoes, corn, okra, barley, Lima beans, carrots, onions, bell pepper, celery and quart of beef stock, 1/4 stick of salted butter and salt and pepper for seasoning Going to make a big pone of Justin Wilson corn bread to go with it, good eats for cool night!

It sounds crazy, but, wife's recipe adds a can of spaghetti sauce to soup. Never thought of it before her. Adds a ton of flavor.

Coming off a week's hike on the Appalachian Trail (many years ago) we feasted on a 23 bean soup. Thought we had died and gone to heaven. Sometimes the veggies win!

I do broth too. I use better than bullion it takes up less storage space.
