Why is it in GA you have to have your trailer inspected by law enforcement as well as have bill of sale and make/model of trailer to apply for a tag when our neighbors (SC where I got the trailer) requires…nothing?

Its silly, ive had to do it a couple of times.
Just tell them its home made, they give (sell) you a vin tag which goes directly into the trash. It's all about the money.
Y’all register non commercial trailers ??
This is my first time dealing with it, so it’s all new to me. Just seems like a lot just to go cut some grass
Both states %'n suck ,so there is that.
The second time I had to do it I was prepared, I went to the tag office with a drill and 2 self tapping screws. I got the home made trailer application and the VIN, got the officer that worked there to follow me outside watch me put the VIN on with the screws I brought and he signed the paper. I went back up to the tag office and they gave me my tag. Its silly but you gotta do it if you want the tag.
