That happens a lot. The Drivers scan packages early to save time and then don't finish their route so the package stays on the truck. I've called and flipped on them a few times. A firearm has to be signed for, so if USPS can't provide proof they are liable.

USPS tracking has had no value for years. I have shipped boxes and they should in transit for 3 days after the recipient said they had the box. It is pretty much fiction. UPS is not any better.
