If buying a used travel trailer in GA, do you have to pay sales/ad valorem tax?

when you buy the tag for it. the tax commissioner is going to get their fair share. I bought a 1999 Fleetwood motorhome last year and the tag and taxes cost me a little over $700.

Yes...campers, boats, trailers, aircraft, jetskis...all taxed upon ownership transfer.
