This is a chance train with one of the finest shooting instructors in the profession.

William's classes on violent criminal actors and risk management are top notch.

Unthinkable, Violent Criminal Actors and How They Work

William Aprill, Aprill Risk Consulting and Tom Givens, Rangemaster
August 29-30, 2015, Sat-Sun, Watkinsville, Georgia (Athens, GA, area, near Atlanta)

William Aprill, Aprill Risk Consulting

William Aprill brings a unique background and perspective to his teaching. For some years now William has been a licensed psychologist, but before that he worked as a Deputy Sheriff and a Deputy US Marshal. He has extensive training in martial arts and with firearms. He holds an instructor and advanced instructor rating from Rangemaster and has attended training with numerous top-tier instructors. He holds an advanced rating at the prestigious Rogers Shooting School in Georgia and is a decorated competitive shooter.

William has done extensive study in criminal psychology and his academic training combined with his field experience has given him a unique insight into how the criminal mind works regarding victim selection and offender motivation. His lectures on the topic will educate you on the threat you face and how to be mentally prepared to deal with it. This is critically important information, which literally could save your life.

All of William’s instruction is in live lecture format. William’s lectures will take place in the Oconee County Civic Center in Watkinsville, GA. This is a modern and comfortable lecture hall with audio/visual support equipment. William’s lectures will take place in the afternoon on both training days, from 2:00PM until 6:00PM. Students who do not want to take the live-fire range portions of this course may register for only the classroom portions. Spouses and adult offspring are encouraged to attend. See the links at the end of this announcement for registration.

Tom Givens, Rangemaster

Tom is a well known firearms and tactics instructor, with over 35 years’ experience teaching law enforcement, military and private citizen students how to successfully defend themselves with firearms. The author of five published textbooks and well over 100 magazine articles, Tom serves as an expert witness on firearms and firearms training in state and federal courts all over the US. A former competitive shooter, Givens has won state and regional championship titles in both IPSC and IDPA competition, and served on the Board of Directors of IDPA. He holds a Master rating in three IDPA divisions. He is an NRA certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and Tactical Shooting Instructor, an FBI certified police firearms instructor, and a graduate of most of the top US shooting schools and traveling trainers’ programs.

Tom will conduct live-fire defensive handgun training on a nearby private firing range during the morning half of each training day, for a total of 8 hours of training. Students will need about 350 rounds of ammunition and all the usual range training gear. Range training will be conducted from 9:00AM until 1:00PM both days. Training will be based on winning confrontations with violent criminals, and will challenge the shooter with increasingly demanding drills. This course is NOT suitable for beginners.

Tuition:

Two full days of training with both instructors, 16 hours total, lecture and live-fire, $425.00 per student.

Lecture sessions only, covers both days, $65 per student.

Advance registration is required.

Bump:

Per Tom, the "not for beginners" means students who can operate their firearm on their own and won't have to be shown the basics such as how to load their firearm, etc.

If you can safely function on a line of shooters, making your own firearm ready, and without constant supervision, you should be okay.
