They use to be a a lot of Turkeys on the National Forest land(oconee National forest) beside ceder creek.on hwy 83 south of Monticello ga.

They’re still there. You can hunt cedar creek to. I know a couple guys that kill them on cedar creek

Back in mid 80s a friend and I were off work in middle week and we would go ,and ride the roads get out and call if one answered go to him and try to kill him.we would cover thousands of acres a day chasing them.we rarely ever seen anyone in those days.killed a good many.
