If you pull up Google street view & Satellite view, you'll see there's no parking lot between the two street lights where they came out.

Google just updated all of it's maps with March 2017 images. The geography of the area hasn't changed a bit since the Google image was taken.

The car came out of the overflow/storm drain to the lake. The driver thought they could make it over the ditch. They miscalculated the angle a bit.

The perps being female has nothing to do with the situation at all. Ever hear of the Manson Family? Charlie didn't do, his girlfriends did.
