My family has used "Yaktrax" grips on our shoes & boots for years during icy weather conditions.
They are easy to put on, do not scuff floors (if you're a little careful), are inexpensive, & work extremely well.

The pairs we use we have had for somewhere between 15-20 years so they're durable as well.
Check them out as possible additions to your winter gear.

This is an under utilized piece of mind gear. Is you don't have some get some for the just in case I've storms. Worth their weight in gold if you are trying to help people who are not as prepared as you.
