Three-legged coyote

I've heard some yotes in the area and was hoping to catch some on my cam. Didn't expect to see a three-legged one! Took me a second to figure out that's what I was seeing.

Likely shot by someone before. They are amazingly resilient.

In da yote hood he goes by “Tripod”.

I had one in the backyard for several years I could never get a shot at. Lots of trail cam pics though. One eye, bobbed tail, scars all over and 3 legs. He was even running with a mate in that condition one year. I called him "Lucky".

That 3-legged coyote, that used to be mine. I caught him live and figured I'd try eating one of them, but after I tasted one little piece, I decided that Coyote meat was not to my liking. So I cauterized his stump & turned him loose.
Because I'm a humane, animal lover kind of guy.
