I spent 45 years of my life working my butt off to make other people feel safe and happy. I'm gonna spend as much of the rest of my life as I can making me happy and still have a great family life.

My ol’ man was 100% work oriented. That was THE only important thing in life to him. Probably why we don’t have a great relationship to this day. He has calmed it down a lot in his older age. I always swore I would have a good balance between work and family unlike my ol man. Something I have figured out though in my 31 years of existence is being an adult absolutely sucks! I work full time for my ol man and work weekends for my business. I can’t afford to buy a decent used diesel truck to pull my mini excavator around. I can’t afford to put an addition off the house so all 3 of my youngins have their own room because the price of lumber is out of sight. Adult life sucks. Now I understand why my ol man worked all the dang time.
