Watched a coworker do similar trying to break lug nuts loose. It's a real shame his daddy didn't teach him righty tighty lefty loosey. On a positive note he learned how to replace wheel studs.
I bent my lug wrench on my '71 Dodge van trying to loosen lugs. I drove to dealer to ask why they were so tight. Left hand threads on driver side , Dummy. Mopar changed to RH only in '73.

Ah the dreaded left hand threads. Had the same on a '64 Chevy Impala SS when I was a kid. Gorilla brother of a friend of mine was "helping" change a flat. Twisted off 2 before I stopped him. 😡

Spin the hitch 90, so the nut and ball are parallel to the ground. Jack the truck up bit , put the pipe wrench on the nut and lower the jack. Pops that nut every time
