This is not a bear, it's a 182 lb. wolf killed near Cook, MN.

Just curious, what was the circumstances of needing to kill the animal. I was under the impression they could only be killed in self defense.
I'm not sure about Mn. but I did hear that there's a very limited season on wolves in Alaska. Personally, even though I do hunt deer & turkey and will hunt hog given the chance I don't like the idea of killing a wolf unless it's killing livestock or in self defense. Just a personal thing though, I'm not gonna protest or riot about it. Lol! A friend of mine had a pet female Timber Wolf years ago that was very sweet and gentle but scared the hell out of his neighbors when she howled. Lol!
