Ok, so can you get a NV scope w/ thermal imaging or is it one or the other? It's going to be for hunting coyotes.

If it were me I'd go with a thermal one. On a moonless night.

But, I can't get the budget to handle it yet since I keep buying ammo

Trijicon Hunter MK3, in either 35mm or 60mm. Went to Shot Show to look at all the thermal scopes. Trijicon is the best. Will record and take pictures.

Trijicon Reap IR 35mm is easy function with good features, warranty and overall value. It’s a rifle scope but manageable enough to use for spotting, handheld. Do what you want but I would travel to Cartersville and visit Kinzies Optics where you can demo a little of everything before buying.
