So, I know the lock on the posts means "no more replies" but I have always assumed it meant , no longer available. Is that correct, and please, spare me the " You know what happens when you assume?" I think we have all heard it.

No it does not necessarily mean the item is no longer available. A lot of ammo flippers choose to not allow replies because they hate being called out for there bs prices
