I recently got this gun for free and was wondering how hard to make the stock for it due to the buttstock is broken along with the butt plate. Anybody out there ever tried to make one or at least helped in making one? Before anyone says anything about the wood being soft I'm planning on making it out of poplar. Just because I've never seen one and I think it would make an interesting piece.

are more than a few.....

I have a Stevens Marksman single shot made between 1912 and 1933. Do you have the buttplate pieces?

Ok I finally finished the stock. No super happy with the forend so I might remake it. Overall kinda happy with my first attempt. The wood involved is poplar with red oak pins. The pins serve no purpose other than making people ask why. I know the poplar is very soft but it’s only a 22lr.
