Just got through reading the Heinlein book. (which has nothing in common with that silly movie.) Thought it was first rate.

The ending was not all that dramatic, but I liked the overall message of the book. Just imagine how much better our society would be if people actually had to earn the right to vote.

Heinlein is one of my favorites. Read "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" next if you havn't already, then "Stranger in a Strange Land". If you like military science fiction you should read "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card, one of my favorite books, and "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi.
