Some observations on the SIG Cross, without a range report

It will be interesting to watch the aftermarket and what additional barrels are offered. I would like to see some more caliber and barrel length options.

Kyle Stark Intl Barrels is offering stainless steel barrels in various lengths and calibers.

Schnee’s has carbon fiber barrels in 6CM, 6.5CM, 7mm-08, .308, and .338 Federal.

Tooley’s has been shipping barrels for a bit now.

Proof Research is going to be offering tubes, as well.

Sig has promised caliber conversions before… ask the MPX boys how that’s working out.

Good thing is that we don’t need SIG in this case. Multiple shops are shipping barrels in multiple calibers, including several not listed by SIG, as we speak.

When the .277 Fury Cartridge is readily available I maybe all in on it.

SIG has stated that the .277 Fury rifles and ammo will be available the first quarter of 2022. We’ll see. Word I heard was that they were going to hit sooner than that, but that the ammo they tooled up for ended up going to the Army for testing.

3000 fps in 16" at that grain weight makes my pants tight I swear.

It’s been in pieces since I got it, while my machinist buddy got the necessary measurements to make a “reaction rod” to easily remove and install barrels. We will be manufacturing these for sale very soon.

Had the stainless steel barrel Cerakoted in Armor Black, and the forend Cerakoted in a shade of ODG, all done by Skydas Gear in Marietta. Flawless job, and I’ve never had Cerakote done that quickly.

Just waiting on the scope that I ordered last month to arrive. Trying to keep it as light as possible, so it will probably be mounted in NF Ultralight rings, although a NF Unimount is a possibility. The factory scope mount already has a 20MOA bias.
