Pretty crazy...and all you have to do to avoid it, is to turn off the electronics? But, how much of the world is ran on electronics??? Crazy stuff!!

my solution to that is to have two of everything....preppers solution..but this is old news for those who pay attention to all possible catastrophes including space anomalies and interstellar activities

This is exactly what I was going to post. Last week (maybe a little before last week) there were some absolutely huge sun spots that had a very high probability of causing an X class flare.

I'd venture to guess 1/3 of the world wouldn't really notice, but the US would be very badly crippled.

There has been some discussion about the issue in government but the problem is that it's a huge problem in a list of other huge problems. Do we try to protect our electric infrastructure or do we figure out how to clone Bruce Willis before he gets too old to save us from a Texas sized asteroid? Nah, lets just bicker about the same bs we did last year.
