The. 38 super round is versatile with ballistics similar to a 9mm +p. It makes a good target or self defense round. Though less common, they arent rare, and Colt has been making 1911s in that caliber for a long time. Ammo is readily available.

Get what makes you happy!! Everybody has a preference on caliber and guns, your money. The gun and caliber both have good reputations, so I say go for it.
