sprained my hand first thing this morning..

I was walking out of our master br and into the sitting /tv room when I tripped over the wife's conveniently placed lap top cord.. I flopped on my side like a guppy breaking most of my fall with my left hand.. It hurt a little but not bad, as the morning wears on it gets worse and starting to swell.. I expect by the end of the day it will look like a baseball glove..lol

Yep, sounds like you are assuming it's sprained. If it's fractured and not properly splinted, it can grow back in wrong position. Trust me on this one, I can show you.

I know what your saying broke my pinky finger on my right hand a few years ago.. I just taped to to the finger next to it for a few weeks figured the doc wouldn't do much more....still can't straighten it...

in this case everything looks straight no crooked fingers just real sore at the big knuckles mainly middle finger. I have an ice pack on it now and going to keep an eye it for a couple hours..

Sucks man. Sorry to hear. Lap top cords are a b****! Def don't try to be a tough guy. A trip to the doc is never a bad idea.
