So on my way home from work, I see them moving. It's 4:30, but I decide to give it go anyhow. I get settled in my hang-on, play a few rounds of Candy Crush when I hear some heavy movement that is definitely not tree rats. I look up and here he comes meandering up his trail. He stops, scrapes the ground and rubs some branches overhead. He continues towards me and is now at 30 yds. I give him a little grunt, he looks up and turns slightly giving me a perfect shot! "Click" went the trigger, then "THUD" went the 208gr Amax with 10.5gr of 1680 propelling it below the speed of sound through a 9" AAC upper with a Mystic on the end. He gave a little kick, ran 30-40 yds and breathed his last breath. Bullet went through one lung, grazed the heart, and in the viscera on the other side; no exit wound.
Hunting with suppressed subs is wicked cool. That sound of the bullet hitting the beast will not be forgotten!
It was a good evening.
And thanks to wwboater for loaning out his son the help me drag him out!
