Side post batteries

A friend had battery cable problems on her GM suv today so I fixed it. Came home and googled it…….Delco Remy designed and developed the side post battery for GM in 1969.
Am I the only one that would like to take a chainsaw to their nuts ????

Nope.

I inadvertently ended up with a side post battery in one of my vehicles. Didn;t even think about it, didn;t know they existed.

You can't jump any one off, you can't get jump off, the terminals corrode off in like 1000 miles, not covered by warranty because the battery is still "good".

Learned a lesson, will not own a vehicle with side posts.

I deliberately converted my jeep cherokee to side post. Haven't had any of the above mentioned problems, also don't have to worry about the top post battery welding it self to the bottom of my hood again.

I have both top and side post in my different vehicles. The only difference to me is that I have a winch. The top post are easier to access to hook the winch up.

The side post battery and the 4L60E were the 2 biggest mistakes GM has made IMHO. Oh and the dumbass fuel management system they started in 2007.
