Should we have an auction section?

I love Auctions, but think it would defeat the purpose of the classifieds, buying and trading locally. It might be fun to do an auction over x days once per year with a percentage going to the ODT.

I also read a thread on another site discussing the legal ramifications of hosting an auction which would also apply in many states to online. I cannot seem to find it now. (So I guess I'm just spreading a rumor) Daggum Internets!

No surprise, I'm not with the masses on this one... I have no problem with this one, provided a few stipulations:

1. Require good pictures, and a clear description.
2. Welchers get perma-banned. IP, not just username.
3. Transaction details are fully documented. Meeting locations, shipping costs, to whom they will sell, etc - all up front.
4. No minimum bid, no reserve. You put it up for sale here, it gets sold to the highest bidder who meets the stated qualifications. Period.

Probably more hassle than it's worth....
