What do you think about the ability to shoot a 380 cartridge in a pistol chambered for 9mm?

I know the recoils spring would need to be lighter.

Would the gun function?

Would the mags work?

I have seen people shoot 40 cal in a 10mm Glock with no issue.

What do you think?

I'd think it wouldn't work very well.
The 40 is a short 10mm, but even though the 380acp is sometimes referred to as a 9mm short, the case dimensions are different.
I have and enjoy both calibers, but haven't personally tried the theory.

I'm far from an expert, but I think the difference in case diameters could cause splitting, and the differences in base/rim diameters would cause feed/extraction issues.
Somebody with more experience my have different thoughts.

Am I wrong or isn't 380ACP a slightly larger diameter than 9x19? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong and it's 9x18 Mak that's larger diameter.
Anyway I would feel safer ( less disastrous)! shooting 380 through my CZ82 in 9x18 Mak. Years ago I did that in a Baikal Makarov without issues..so I just assume the CZ82 would do the same.

Below is a video of shooting a 380acp in a 9mm Glock. The only issue is not enough power to cycle. I was thinking a weaker recoil spring might allow it to work.
