sharpener question

looking for suggestions for a field knife sharpener for my pack.
must be able to cut most blade grinds w/o destroying the blade.
and please, its gotta be idiot proof lol. i couldnt sharpen a knife to save my soul.
what do you guys think?

Something like this is simple, light, and any idiot can use it

these will put a quick edge on a knife and are simple to use. Being overzealous can take too much steel in an uneven manner if pressure is applied unevenly. I use one of these when I am being too lazy to work the knife on a stone, which is most of the time anymore.

I use a small triangular file and a fine grit sanding sponge. Works very quickly and holds a edge at the right angle.

Use the bottom of your ceramic coffee mug in a pinch.

Problem solved I just purchase the 24 replacement pack of blades and never look back

As a knifemaker, I cringe every time I see one of these threads LOL
Seriously, the replacement blade rigs will serve you great if you are a hunter and don’t like sharpening. If you are a ”bushcrafter” then sharpening ought to be as basic a skill as fuzzsticks.

bro, i cant seem to learn how to sharpen a damn knife to save my soul.
i have that stupid ass lansky kit too.
ive tried and ive tried. would love to have this skill under my belt.
just not happening for me.
