I’m not much of a pie maker. I’ll have to look into that.
Made two jars of muscadine this evening. I used the recipe that includes pectin.
It begins to congeal much faster with the pectin added. The recipe makes two, 16oz jars.

Love muscadine jelly. We have always made some. Our vines did not do well this year. Too much rain?

I was at work the other day and walked outside for a short break. The smell of muscadines caught my attention.
Low and behold there was a vine full of them and the ground was covered in them as well.
In 30 minutes I had picked enough to make that batch of jelly.

Mine has been gone for almost 4 years Brother, a big piece of my heart went with her.
My Grandmother has been gone for several more. When I tried this newest batch of jelly it made me get all choked up. It tasted just like the stuff my Grandmother used to make......My goal was achieved.
We have 2 huge vines at my grandparents...I guess I need to go over there and start picking this weekend. Would love to make some wine, mead or jelly with it all.
