S&w triplelock/ new century 44 special in ruff condition

I am helping a widow get rid of her husbands and his fathers fathers fathers weapons. Which I have listed and all except this one and the Parker brothers 1889 shotgun are in excellent some unused condition. This one is the worst of them all. I know from research if this gun was in good condition it would be worth a lot. I was wondering if it makes sense to re do the nickel finish. Any feedback/ help would be appreciated

DO NOT get it re-nickeled

1. The cost will not be justified by the increase in value. Just the prep work will cost $$$$.

2. Any collector wants the original finish. If it needs to be re-nickeled, let them do it.

Is there a "N" to the left of the numbers in this picture?

I am interested in purchasing it in "as is" condition.
