I have an old Marlin rimfire bolt action that is in great shape and incredibly accurate. I think it deserves a better scope than the cheap plastic tube scopes that are all over the place now.

Anybody have some recommendations on a nice metal tube rimfire scope to keep an eye out for?

I'd prefer an older one to match the time period of the rifle, a Marlin-81dl, but I'll look at any quality scope, old or new.

Intended use of this rifle? Hunting, shooting paper? Weaver, Redfield, Tasco come to mind for decent to good vintage scopes. Although some folks put them down, a Japan made Tasco is usually a good quality scope and many times can be found at a reasonable price.
