Removing Shield rear sight

Im about to put an Apex trigger and night sights on my M&P Shield. Figured I should do it all at once, so I only have to take off the rear sight off one time. But I was wondering should I go ahead and get the sight remover just for the Shield or is there a good universal sight remover out there that will work. I have heard all the horror stories about how stubborn the rear sight is to take off. Last thing i wanna do is put a mark on my slide while taking off the rear sight. my experience is mostly with 1911s, not so much M&Ps. So I would love to hear from anyone who has advice or has removed this particular rear sight before. Thanks

I owned a Shield and a M&P 45 and wanted to put the night sights on myself. Now I am the #1 Dunderhead, but I also read the stories on how tricky those sights are to play with. Just my generic advice of caution or a tiny spring will launch itself into the atmosphere.
