Dear GCO Member,
Governor Deal still has 2 weeks and 4 days (if anyone is counting) to sign or veto HB60 or it will become law without his signature. We still have the mindset that he will sign the bill before the May 5 date. This means our job is not done due to the previously stated facts that the Bloomberg Coalition of Gun Prohibitionists are continually calling from all over the country.
As stated previously, the governor had signed only 7 bills since the General Assembly adjourned. That abruptly changed last Friday when he signed over 100 bills into law. He did not sign HB60, but the bills are getting ready for his signature.

Susan M. Hoag - "Stand Your Ground" laws are ridiculous in the first place! These laws are nothing short of a license to kill people you don't like, and get away with it. Despite the fear mongering from the Moms and the other Bloomberg Coalition of Gun Prohibitionists, we need to continue to contact Governor Deal and urge him to sign HB60. We cannot allow our opponents to overshadow our calls and our desire to have HB60 signed into law.
