Looking to have an Ed Brown bobtailed mainspring housing installed in a 1911 that currently has a standard flat mainspring housing.

Recommendations for 1911 work?

Your trick is going to be finding someone who has the jig for that installation.
I thought about buying one, but demand for the job wouldn't have made it worth it. Perhaps, "build it and they will come" should prevail....

I thought about buying the Jig and attempting it myself. The only thing I'm leary of is drilling the holes. I don't have access to a drill press that I would trust to do it.
I've sent an email to Ga firing line to see what that say.

I modified my jig so that if you dont have a drill press, you can relocate the hole with a hand drill…it worked out well for me, as I’ve done three or four with it…I even did a rough llama 1911 with it….
Talked to John last week. Not sure he can help...he is having eye troubles.
