Question on powder for 223

H322 is the best powder (from my experience) with a 1:9" Remington 700 with 20" barrel. I tried Varget and IMR-4895, but the best has been H322. I'm about to try some Reloader 10X, I'll let you know how it goes if your interested.

I have found .223 to be much like .308, in that a wide variety of powders will work well. There are some that are better for light bullets, some better for heavy bullets, and some great multi-purpose powders. I haven't really found a favorite just yet, but I am enjoying the search...

H 322 and Varget so far using mostly 52-55 grain bullets in 1:12 Remington bolts and my Bushmaster. Want to try CFE223, but can't find it right now. Maybe score some at the Eastman show tomorrow.

Yoteshooter, You go way back in time using some great powder. I've used a little of the blc2, but I've used more w748 and h335 just based on availability. Both gave excellent accuracy for me out of an ar and a bolt action rifle.
