Everything looking optimistic for prospects of a normal, healthy life ... Latest word is that they will remain under observation at the hospital for the next week or so
Given that everything remains the same, they will be going home!
The truly scary thing about this whole "event" is that the pregnancy was completely normal until the actual day of the emergency. My step-daughter woke up and noticed that the baby was not moving around as she normally did ... Fortunately, she called her physician who had her immediately come in for a check-up ... which he did. We were told that had she waited a mere hour later , the baby would have been lost.
This was totally unexpected as the baby was due within 2 weeks ... A trouble-free birth almost a certainty ... WRONG! Research reveals that events like this (although not common), are possible and must be taken into consideration by expectant parents ... So, everyone be advised, stay alert and watchful, and take care!
