Do you think the people who can't decipher the correct usage for sell/sale walk around the mall or their favorite discount cigarette emporium and think all the signs (they probably can't read) are incorrect? Same goes for the used car lot.
"Hey ma, look at this 1983 Iroc Z for sale"
"Ma, would you believe they want $5,000 for this car and them people can't even spell the sign good?"
Or do you think the slow cells have massacred the slightly brighter cells in their heads and they just read it as they would say it without question? Sure enough as the sun rises and sets, sell becomes sale and nobody upstairs is the wiser.
