Pond Mapping

I would like to map the bottom of my pond. It's about 1.1 acres. I expect the max depth at less than 20'. Probably more like 15'. I would like to be able to print out the map and frame it.

Anyone ever done this? Will a fish finder like hummingbird with the auto map thing actually do this? I watched a YouTube video so obviously I'm now a subject matter expert. I'd like to do it without spending thousands of dollars but I want something better than doing a grid/string/hand depth measurement thing.

Appreciate any advice y'all might have.

Wish I had an answer for you. I’ve been wanting to map the family pond for years.

It was drained down when I was a kid.

That was before cell phones so of course nobody went to the effort to take any pictures.

You need to find a surveyor that has LiDAR capability. Some of the bigger firms have LiDAR on a drone and can do it for you.

Seems like the hummingbird fish finder will do it. You just need that blank auto map chip thing with it. Just never done it and tech isn't my baliwick. Guess I'll have to learn.
