So, on a whim I picked this up today. Mitchell Arms Gold Series '95 1911. I feel like I got it pretty cheap, seems in good condition overall and has a nice trigger pull. Kind of heavy, like an AMT Hardballer I used to have. This one has adjustable sights and decent wood grips, and no barrel bushing. I'm no 1911 guru whatsoever, so it may have other cool things, who knows.
All I can find online on these is that some were made by Dan Wesson, some were made by Mitchell (Mitchell's Mausers) with Caspian parts, some people love them, and some people think they are pieces of crap. Most recent thread I have found is from 2011 on some 1911 forum. I haven't shot it yet to see if it sucks or not.
So what do I have here? Something really rad? Or a paperweight?
