Not getting notifications when tagged in posts

I checked my preferences and it is checked to alert me when someone mentions me in a post. However I dont actually see the alert in my notifications. Only shows likes and replies to subscribed threads. How do I fix that?

I've had the same thing. Never notified of a tag.

My observation is that when the "tags" are listed 1 2 3 4 5 etc I don't get the notification.
